The Ocean Sustainability Club (OSC) proudly welcomed a distinguished international maritime delegation to the Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chattogram on 28 October 2025, marking an important moment of engagement between global industry leaders and the next generation of seafarers. The visit highlighted the growing connection between maritime education, sustainability initiatives, and industry collaboration in shaping a responsible maritime future.
The delegation included Sim Wai Thong, Managing Director (Asia), and Alex Hartnol, Director (South Asia), from X-Press Feeders (Singapore), along with representatives from Eastaway Ship Management and Sea Consortium. During their visit, the distinguished guests toured the Ocean Sustainability Club with Club President Mohammad Feroz Mostafa and engaged in meaningful discussions with cadets about OSC’s sustainability-driven initiatives and student-led activities.
The visiting delegation expressed strong appreciation for the innovative projects undertaken by OSC members, including environmental awareness campaigns, youth-led research initiatives, and practical sustainability actions aligned with evolving global maritime priorities. Their encouraging feedback reaffirmed that the cadets’ efforts are not only impactful within the Academy but also relevant to the wider international maritime community.
From the Editor’s Desk, this visit represented more than a ceremonial interaction—it symbolized recognition of youth leadership in advancing ocean sustainability and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. It reminded cadets that professionalism, innovation, and environmental responsibility must go hand in hand in shaping the future maritime sector.
As OSC continues its journey, such global engagement serves as a powerful source of motivation—encouraging members to think boldly, act responsibly, and prepare themselves to lead a greener and more sustainable maritime future.
