My Bottle Campaign: An Effort for Encouragement and Awareness Buildup

Advocating for a Plastic-Free Future

Encouraging people to reduce their use of plastic bottles in daily life has been one of the key advocacy goals of the Ocean Sustainability Club (OSC). In line with this mission, we introduced the “My Bottle Campaign” on the club’s inaugural day, promoting reusable alternatives and fostering environmental awareness.

For the past six years, I have personally distributed glass bottles to influential members of society to reinforce this effort. By engaging leaders and decision-makers, we aim to set an example for sustainable practices and inspire widespread behavioral change.

A Notable Recognition

As part of my ongoing advocacy, I had the privilege of presenting a glass bottle and several copies of our club newsletter to Brig Gen (Retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping, Textiles, and Jute. His first visit to Bangladesh Marine Academy on October 7, 2024, provided a significant opportunity to discuss sustainable maritime practices and promote plastic-free alternatives.

Through such initiatives, My Bottle Campaign continues to raise awareness and encourage responsible choices, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
